Discovering New Things

Last weekend the boyfriend took me to a park in my city. A city that I have lived in my whole life, well in and just outside of ;) Long story short I had never been inside this park. My whole life in a small city and I had never exploded this park. Crazy I know....

Funny enough the park is called Discovery Park. My man constantly surprises me :) Love is so gross ;)

Blanket Baby...

Last week I was on vaca from the day job and I went thrifting like you wouldn't believe. I especially like thrifting around Halloween because all of the things that get put into the "costume" section that are really for me to wear in my real life. Case in point, I found this amazing jacket! I'm not really sure what "costume" it would be used for..... Which is why it's a good thing I'm wearing it daily ;)

Lalalala la la!

Snow City

Last week our little city got covered head to toe in snow, snow, snow! We got 5" to 10" even down by the water. Just so we are clear, Seattle almost never gets snow. Outlying areas sure, but in the city it never sticks.

The reasons snow is such a big deal for us in Seattle are as follows:
1.) We have hills, hills hills! In the city there are at least 5 main hills that make up the city. They are all quite steep and the second that a snowflake falls all the streets going up and down them get closed. On flat land snow is no big deal but add a hill and it's a deal breaker.
2.) The city itself is not at all prepared. I saw 1 salt truck and 1 snow plow the entire week. What that means is even the flat roads don't get cleared for the people who can't take time off work and have to venture out.
3.) This is the big one. No one in the city is prepared with snow tires or chains, but they try and drive in it anyway. This causes a big old mess every time.

Overall I love the snow, however when you have to try and get around in it, it sucks!

Back from the wreck...

I have been gone a long time and am quite sorry. I have been having a sorted personal life situation and moved into my own place. It also took weeks to get my internet hooked back up. But enough of all the excuses... I have had a very pleasant weekend and thought now that I'm settled it's time to get back online. I had to sell clothes yesterday to get some cash to tide me over till payday, but me being the clothes hoarder that I am had to trade for a few new items to take back home with me. I got this striped denim vest for a steal and just had to wear it right away.

This is our beautiful pal Alex, she has the cutest hair on earth.
Good thing my pal Squill was having a BBQ so I had somewhere to wear it to. Squill and B-Rock (her man) have a beautiful roof top deck that is the perfect place on a Summer evening. It was quite nice to see pals and have some cocktails. Things are looking up ;)

I wore:
- Striped denim vest from Buffalo Exchange
- Vintage lace cami from my Mother
- Long black skirt from Urban Outfitters
- The usual pile of jewels and gems

Learning new things.....

I have started trying to learn new things when it comes to this whole computer thing. I have finally started to learn to layer photos in Power Point. Old news to most people however brand new information to me.

This is my very first attempt so please do not judge me. I just grabbed some photos I have taken over the last year and shoved them together. Hopefully one day I won't be so scared of technology......

* All photos are taken by me.
