Last week I was on vaca from the day job and I went thrifting like you wouldn't believe. I especially like thrifting around Halloween because all of the things that get put into the "costume" section that are really for me to wear in my real life. Case in point, I found this amazing jacket! I'm not really sure what "costume" it would be used for..... Which is why it's a good thing I'm wearing it daily ;)

A long time coming.....
Uhg! It has literally been a million years since I have had time to be on the interweb. A lot of things have been changing in my life and with those changes has come about a billion more things to everyday. Sending my stress levels through the roof and my time for fun down the gutter. There is a light at the end of the tunnel however and in 3 weeks I will be able to breathe again. That being said, I just had one of the nicest weekends! It got up to 90 degrees in Seattle!!!!!!! Pretty much the first day all year that I went outside without a layer or two.
And hold your breath, I am in fact wearing sandals! Hell may have froze over ;) I do have some exciting projects in the works and can't wait to share them! XXoo

It's a Tough Town
Whenever I am out thrifting I am always on the lookout for vintage Harley Davidson tees. They are fairly hard to find these days but oh so worth it when you do find one. My last thrifting trip I was thrilled to find this Harley tee. It's a mans size XL so I had to chop the sleeves off and make it into a muscle tee.
I wore my favorite washed out red Cheap Monday jeans, since I finally fit into them again ;) I also wore this really cool bottle cap earring I got at the "Hangover" market that is held every other Sunday at The Comet on Pike street in Cap Hill. The earring was hand made by a girl you can find her HERE!

Striped Situation
This Saturday I got together with a good pal of mine JC. The two of us walked to a cafe had a coffee, went to the grocery, then another grocery and finally back to my place. Sounds kind of boring..... But if you had seen us trying to carry pumpkins back to my place you would have thought differently. We picked pumpkins that were far too heavy to be carrying through the city. So we sent the whole way home laughing hysterically making strange noises and basically looking like fools! My arms still hurt!
All in all we had a lovely time.... even if we did look like fools. Plus I got to pull out one of my favorite coats of all time. I wear this coat literally all winter long. It seems to go with everything I own, so don't be surprised if you start to see a lot of it!

Just a few quick things....
I have been having some pretty up and down luck with my vintage shopping these days. I'm having a hard time finding the items I need for projects at my day job. But I have been finding some pretty good personal items....
Both the purse and vest were only $5 a piece!!!!!! I almost passed out from excitement when I found them. As for the beautiful bracelets, one of my wonderful aunts gave them to me. May family has also been unloading vintage treasures on me which is surprising and amazing at the same time! I recently got two of my aunts 70's wedding dresses. They are both Gunne Sax dresses and have only been worn once! I will be posting pics of the dresses as soon as possible and may even end up selling one of them, we will have to see.....
I also got this cute little plant from a special friend that just sits in a bottle of water and looks cute. I put it on the window sill in my shower so my crazy cat can't get to it and eat it. My cat loves all vegetation for some weird reason..... XX Dolls!

New Treasures....
I have been buying far too many items lately. Sometimes a girl just can't say no. I literally have a huge bag of clothes with the tags still on them that I have yet to work into the rotation. Lucky for my pocket book I am quite the bargain hunter. Here are a few quick pics of some of my fave things as of late.
The crochet tank and boots I bought at work and the blanket I got while thrifting for the online store my pals and I are about to launch. The blanket was only $3 and is really pretty soft. I have one other crochet tank situation that I just got, but I will be posting that later this week. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week...

Tie Dye DIY
Yesterday some of my lady friends (Renee is the one with the red hair and Terris is the blonde) came by for a little champagne and some afternoon crafting. We decided to tie dye some vintage slips we all had on hand. You know, just to see if we could do it.
They turned out soooo good! We were all so excited we will be trying more crafts soon! Also the other good news is that we will be selling some of these beauties on the vintage site that Terris, Al, and I are starting. The site is called Neon Nightmare Vintage and we will be launching it really soon! All the items are found, cleaned, modeled, and shipped by us :) You can check our sites blog now, just click HERE!

When Clouds Cover the Sky
I have the biggest weakness for long floral skirts. In fact this may have graduated to a full blow obsession. Every time I'm at the thrift store I go straight for the long skirts and pull at least 5 in the first 10 minutes!
This is just just one of the five beauties that I picked up on my last trip to the thrift. It buttons up the front and almost hits my ankles. I wore it to work today with a camisole I got from my Mother (I call her Meesa fyi) and my favorite cowboy boots that I have had for years. Now if only the sun would come out...
* Champagne camisole $0 from my Meesa
* Floral floor length skirt $5 from Value Village
* Cowboy boots $30 from Red Light Vintage (bought 7 years ago)

A 2nd job isn't all bad...
Yesterday my 2 pals and I did our first photo shoot for the new online vintage shop we are starting. We have already started an inspiration blog so people can start getting to know our personal styles. We are all very different, but you can check out our inspiration blog HERE. I will post a link to our site once we have it up and running. I'm so excited I have wanted this for years and to be doing it with such good pals, I couldn't be luckier.
If this is how a 2nd job is going to go, I'm sold :)

"It's all happening..."
I have wanted to sell vintage clothes for as long as I can remember. My day job is in retail, but my true love has always been vintage. I love the hunt, the excitement of finding something truly wonderful in the middle of the madness of most thrift stores. So finally it seems my dreams may be coming true. Two of my very good pals and I have decided to start an online vintage store! It is not up yet, but today we made some important headway and it has put me in a particularly good mood. Hope the rest of you have had an equally magical weekend....
I am wearing a black tee from Urban Outfitters (from about 5 years ago), floral skirt from Good Will $5, my favorite cowboy boots from Red Light Vintage $30 (I have been wearing them for about 7 years straight and have had them resoled about 3 times already), and my belt and hat are from Urban Outfitters as well. Oh and my American Flag that hangs over my bedroom window is from Good Will as well, cost $3 and worth every penny :)
